The Malay Dance Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) at Tanjong Katong Primary School introduces students to the expressive and vibrant art form of Malay dance. Through exposure to a variety of dance styles, students develop rhythm, coordination, and an appreciation of cultural expression.
The programme emphasises discipline, teamwork, and creativity, providing a supportive environment where students build confidence and express themselves artistically. Through regular training and performance opportunities, students gain stage presence and experience performing at school and community events.
The Malay Dance CCA nurtures students to become confident performers and well-rounded individuals who demonstrate respect, resilience, and a strong appreciation for the performing arts.
Objectives

CCA Schedule / Venue:
Primary 3 to 6
Tuesday: 2 – 4pm
Venue: Music Rooms
**Do take note that there might be additional practice sessions on an ad-hoc basis to prepare the students for event/competition performances.

The team also took part in the prestigious Mutiara Tari National Competition at Wisma Geylang Serai, where their dedication, discipline, and passion shone brightly on stage. Their performance stood out as a true testament to perseverance and teamwork, reflecting months of rigorous practice and unyielding spirit.
They danced not just with their feet, but with their hearts, every step told a story of who they are.

Our talented dancers proudly represented the school at the SG60 Celebrating Together event, held at Kampung Ubi Community Club as part of the Marine Parade Cluster celebrations. Their vibrant performance captivated the audience, showcasing the beauty and grace of traditional Malay dance.
