The English Language Drama Club at Tanjong Katong Primary School provides students with opportunities to develop confidence in speaking, performing, and creative expression. Through drama-based activities, students explore storytelling, characterisation, movement, and voice, while learning to express ideas and emotions effectively.

The programme exposes students to various aspects of the performing arts, helping them build stage presence, creativity, and self-confidence in a supportive and engaging environment. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively as they rehearse and perform, fostering teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Through performances and enrichment experiences, the English Language Drama Club nurtures confident communicators and creative thinkers who are able to express themselves clearly and creatively.

Objectives

1. To develop students’ techniques in engaging in debate, making speeches, telling stories and growing their oratorical skills

2. To nurture a warm and inviting environment when students can foster their love of theatre and the arts through the attendance of and participation in performances  

3. To nurture and grow values of teamwork, discipline and perseverance through rehearsals and preparation for performances
